Two training programs

Below you will find a list of our training modules. The modules are either aimed at social work professionals or educational professionals. Please use the filter on the left side to find the modules relevant for you.

The training program dedicated to educational professionals aims at instructing lecturers to establish a strong partnership with social work organisations, develop research skills with their students, and engage in ethnography in collaboration with citizens, social workers and students.

The training program dedicated to social workers aims at training social workers on how to facilitate social science research in their organisation in collaboration with Higher Educational Institutes, its students and citizens.

Module 2

How to prepare your students

for community work and field research

This module is about introducing your students to the field, ethical considerations surrounding fieldwork and about the LOCUS approach to student fieldwork

Module 3

How to do community meetings

from an eduational perspective

Learn all about community meetings; one of the most important elements of LOCUS. What are they, what is their purpose, who should you invite and what can students present?

Module 4

Building an international community

bringing students, lecturers and social professionals together

Learn how to facilitate international exchange between all participants in the project

Module 5

Field research and social work

its use and application

Learn why we think field research is important for social work practices and how you can set up a survey within your community.

Module 6

How to guide students in the field

from a social work perspective

Learn what community techniques you can use to get students and residents engaged with the neighbourhood in a different way than they would usually do. 

Module 7

Community meetings

from a social work perspective

This module is on how to do ‘Community Meetings:’ the heart of the LOCUS project. How to engage residents in the project and what should the content of these meetings be.
